History of Equine Heritage Institute

Founded in 1995 by entrepreneur and philanthropist, Gloria Austin, the Equine Heritage Institute’s mission, many call it a passion, is to educate, celebrate and preserve the history of the horse and its role in shaping world civilizations and changing lives.

We hope you will join us in preserving and perpetuating this incredible history. Our virtual museum will be going live in June of 2013. You are also welcome to visit Gloria Austin’s wonderful site at GloriaAustin.com to see her collection of over 150 horse drawn vehicles.
