Explore the exciting role of how the horse shaped and reshaped Western Europe from the fall of Rome to the coming of the Renaissance. Not only is the always interesting role of the knight during this period covered but also how the horse affected the average citizens. For many of those citizens the horse was associated with fear as they represented the enemy that brought death, destruction and famine. The term ‘nightmare’ came out of this time period as did the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse.
